It is a diet made up of mostly raw organic fruits and vegetable, nuts and seeds. It is not about eating raw meat or raw eggs which is a question I hear a fair bit. There is little to no cooking or heating of food which kills the live enzymes crucial for proper digestion. Following a raw food diet plan is an individual journey, and for everyone there are differences and extremes. This site will provide all the options and you can do your research into what way of eating will benefit you the most.When I decided to start changing my eating habits (and those of my family) to a more fresh, whole living foods we certainly all noticed a change quickly. My energy levels went through the roof, my persistent acne began to disappear and most importantly to me, around 15 pounds of unsightly fat that I had been carrying around since the birth of my twins just melted away. After that I was hooked on learning more and eating clean. All doctors and diets agree that we should all be eating more fruit and vegetables, up to 10 servings a day is recommended. Eating the raw food diet takes those health recommendations a step further and keeps those foods uncooked or unprocessed, to be consumed in their natural state.
Eating mainly raw foods may seem restrictive at first, and you may find others questioning your sanity! Find the support you need and educate yourself and be patient with all the many changes you and your body will go through. Many find rapid weight loss to be the first major change as your body goes through a series of detoxification. However you decide to incorporate raw foods into your life and your diet you will notice other changes, awareness of what you are putting into your body, the way your body feels after eating certain foods, learning to recognize the true signs of hunger and not just following the 'see-food' diet.
