As you can see, I look pretty happy. I am. Keep reading and you'll find out why. I don't know about you, but a lot of times when I am visiting a website where someone is giving me some form of advice or answer to a question that I googled, I like to look around and find an 'about me' page to see who is talking to me. So this is that page for you.

Now I have been very blessed to not have any serious health challenges in my life. But what I did have was 4 children. And with each pregnancy - the last one being pregnant with twins (which I wrote another site about BTW)I had some extra fat. A lot of extra fat actually along with stretched out muscles, constant fatigue and headaches and generally feeling doomed to have that tired housewife look.

It's funny how you don't really have time as a mom to look at yourself in the mirror and see those extra pounds creeping up on you. And usually you are also the one responsible for cooking and grocery shopping and meal planning for the family. So what your family and you eat, is pretty much your responsibility.

While pregnant with the twins I got up to 200 pounds and at only 5 foot 4 that is a lot of weight to carry around on a small frame. 60 pounds of that came off leaving me at around 145 pounds. For YEARS! I tried everything. High carb, low fat, low carb high protein, powders, shakes, weight watchers (I GAINED weight and was starving all the time!) I exercised every single day - literally 7 days a week. The scale would not budge. I wore baggier clothes and honestly didn't think I looked THAT bad, until of course summer would come around and inevitably someone would take a picture of me and yuck! Are you kidding me? Who was that lady?

Now because I live online and love to read and learn and research, I began my search for what really worked. I did not want to be taking pills or potions. I didn't want to go on some crazy calorie counting restrictive diet. What I wanted was results. I wanted to feel good.

The first program I started was with Tom Venuto - Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle. He ran a challenge where part of the deal was to take a before picture - mine is below if you want to check it out - it's pretty gross! But by taking that simple step of taking a photograph to really see what I really looked like, well that was major motivation and total honesty. Tom's program focuses on eating real foods. He even has a rating system for them. For example and apple would get an "A", applesauce would get a "B" grade and apple juice a "C". You get the idea , the more processed, the less nutritious. His program was fabulous and totally started me in the right direction.

Then I found Isabel de los Rios The Diet Solution Program. Here I learned SO much about health and foods and nutrition and started to eliminate processed foods and sugars from my diet, including bread which I loved to eat, but honestly just giving up bread can make a huge difference - try it! Or better yet, she has a fantastic video here you can watch outlining steps you can take for amazing fat loss. It's a great place to start if you are nervous about transitioning to raw foods. This is where I really started eating a LOT of fresh fruits and veggies. This is the key to the raw food diet solution.

Then I was lucky enough to stumble on the Raw Divas and the Green Smoothie Queen. And guys? This is where everything SNOWBALLED! This was the beginning of raw foods weight loss for me and WOW. I just started adding one green smoothie a day to my diet.

Raw foods weight loss. That's it. I didn't take out anything. I didn't count calories. I just added one green smoothie a day. And I felt great! And then a funny thing happened. The weight started falling off. Literally. My clothes started getting baggy. My energy started going through the roof. I started craving MORE raw foods. So somedays I would have 2 green smoothies. I'd eat a big salad. Munch on celery, tomatoes, avocadoes. The more raw foods I ate, the better I felt and the more raw foods I craved and the faster I experienced raw foods weight loss. My kids started lining up for them too! And more weight came off. In the last few months, I have gone from 145 pounds down to 115 pounds. My body fat has gone from 33% down to 18%! I lost inches everywhere. You can see in the pictures below. THAT is what 30 pounds of fat looks like - gross!

I don't own anything that fits me right now. Everything is too big! I FEEL fantastic. I eat all the time. I am never hungry. I run 25 miles a week. I lift weights and do yoga and put in 16 hour days. I strive to learn more every day about raw foods weight loss and eating living foods and vegan nutrition and have dedicated this website to helping others.
